Introduction

Faith Voyagers is designed specifically for children ages 3-11. We take the responsibility of protecting children's privacy extremely seriously. This Child Privacy Policy explains in detail how we handle information about children who use our educational app.

This policy supplements our main Privacy Policy and COPPA Disclosure with child-specific details.

What We Collect from Children

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our educational service:

Information Collected:

  • First name only: Used to personalize greetings and the learning experience. We never ask for or store last names.
  • Age or grade level: Used to provide age-appropriate content and lessons tailored to developmental stages.
  • Learning progress: Which lessons have been completed, quiz scores, time spent learning, achievements earned.
  • In-app preferences: Avatar selections, favorite characters, display settings (no personal photos allowed).

What We Don't Collect

We have designed our app to avoid collecting sensitive information:

  • No last names or full names
  • No email addresses from children
  • No physical addresses
  • No phone numbers
  • No photos, videos, or audio recordings
  • No location data or GPS information
  • No social media connections
  • No persistent identifiers for advertising
  • No biometric data

How We Use Children's Data

Children's data is used exclusively for educational purposes:

  • Personalization: Greeting children by name, remembering where they left off
  • Age-appropriate content: Serving lessons matched to their grade level
  • Progress tracking: Recording completed lessons and achievements
  • Parent reports: Generating progress reports for parents/guardians
  • App improvement: Understanding which lessons work best (aggregated, anonymized)

We NEVER use children's data for advertising, marketing, or any commercial purpose other than providing our educational service.

How We Protect Children's Data

We implement multiple layers of protection:

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256)
  • Access controls: Only authorized personnel can access children's data, and only for legitimate support purposes
  • No third-party sharing: We never share children's personal information with advertisers or data brokers
  • Secure infrastructure: Our servers are hosted on SOC 2 compliant cloud infrastructure
  • Data minimization: We only store what's necessary and delete data when no longer needed
  • Regular audits: We conduct regular security reviews of our data practices

Parent Rights

Parents have complete control over their children's data:

  • Access: View all information we have about your child through the parent dashboard
  • Correction: Update or correct any of your child's information
  • Deletion: Delete your child's profile and all associated data at any time
  • Withdrawal: Revoke consent for data collection (child's profile will be deleted)
  • Export: Request a copy of your child's data in a portable format

How to Review and Delete Your Child's Data

We make it easy for parents to access, review, and delete their children's information. Here's exactly how to do it:

Option 1: Through the Parent Dashboard (Recommended)

  1. Log in to your Faith Voyagers account at faithvoyagers.com
  2. Navigate to "My Children" or "Child Profiles"
  3. Select the child whose data you want to review or manage
  4. Click "View Data" to see all stored information
  5. To delete: Click "Delete Profile" and confirm
  6. To export: Click "Export Data" to download a copy

Option 2: Email Request

If you prefer, you can email us directly:

  1. Send an email to privacy@faithvoyagers.com
  2. Subject line: "Child Data Request"
  3. Include your account email and child's first name
  4. Specify what you need: review, correction, deletion, or export
  5. We'll respond within 48 hours

What Data Can You Access?

  • Child's first name and age/grade level
  • Avatar and profile customizations
  • Complete lesson progress history
  • Quiz scores and achievements
  • Time spent in the app
  • Memory verses learned
  • Any in-app preferences

What Happens When You Delete?

  • All child profile data is immediately removed from active systems
  • Progress, achievements, and history are permanently deleted
  • Backup copies are purged within 90 days
  • This action cannot be undone
  • Your parent account and other children's profiles remain unaffected
